Players play as Teddy, an imaginative 6-year-old boy. Monsters have escaped from under the bed and are turning Teddy’s dream into a nightmare. As the game goes on, the dream world gets darker as the nightmares take over.
Teddy and his anthropomorphic teddy bear, Bo, must go on a quest to find the legendary “dream catcher” to stop the monsters and restore balance between dreams and nightmares. During the quest, Teddy and Bo will explore different dream worlds with unique environments and play styles. Armed with a wooden toy sword and a dart gun, Teddy will need to defeat a diverse set of monsters who stand in his way.
The levels in “Teddy and Bo” are split into 7 different dream worlds. The dream worlds based off things a young kid would dream or imagine. For example, there is a dream where the floor is lava and Teddy must traverse across household furniture.
Platforming is the main gameplay component of “Teddy and Bo”, but the game constantly introduces new mechanics, such as stealth and third person shooting, to keep all players excited and entertained through the end.
For players who like “collect-a-thons”, there are several pieces of candy to collect across each dream world. Every level will also feature several secret areas away from the main linear path. These areas contain more difficult platforming challenges with a prize of special candy at the end.
The game is being developed for PS4 and PC.
After release of the game, DLC will be available in the form of additional dream sequences which standalone from the main story.
Additionally, there are plans to release a children’s picture book and/or a comic book adaptation of the game.
